Professional Qualifications and Affiliations
I am registered with the Psychologists Board of New Zealand and hold a current Annual Practising Certificate in the Clinical Scope of Practice. I am a full member of the New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists (NZCCP).
I obtained my Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology (with Merit) from Victoria University of Wellington and my PhD in Psychology from the University of Otago, Wellington School of Medicine and Health Sciences. I have a Bachelor of Science degree (First Class Honours) in Psychology from Victoria University of Wellington. My PhD focused on Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) by examining traumatic life experiences and psychological processes jointly with measurement of hormone levels, and how these interact and impact on the patient’s experience of CFS.
Experience and current work environments
During my training I worked in a number of mental health settings including Adult Mental Health Services, private practice, and in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services. For the past 4 years I have been working in Child, Adolescent and Family Mental Health in the Manawatu and Tararua regions. I have professional supervision from an experienced senior practitioner and regularly engage in ongoing professional development courses, workshops, and seminars to ensure awareness of recent research and its applicability to my clients. I work full-time at Wairarapa Psychology in the Wairarapa and Tararua regions.
